USGreentech has been creating better turf systems together since 2009, focusing on the safety of the people who play on its artificial turf surfaces and protecting the environment in the meantime.
Backed by its parent company The Motz Corporation, an employee-owned company that is one of the most recognized and highly respected turf system specialists in the world, USGreentech focuses its efforts on the most essential part of the synthetic turf system: the infill. The company cares – about the synthetic turf industry, the young athletes it serves, the products it delivers and the environment.
What Is Service Day?
Each year, USGreentech shows just how much it cares about the community and people it serves by hosting an Annual Service Day. During this day, USGreentech leaders and employees visit a place in need and give back.
Some past benefactors of the company’s Annual Service Day include fixing up baseball fields with the Reds Community Fund and helping fix up the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Field of Dreams. The Annual Service Day work normally consists of fixing run-down fields, adding new fields, touching up paint on buildings at the fields, landscaping and giving other parts of the community a facelift.
This year, USGreentech helped Covington Independent Public Schools build a five-a-side soccer structure at Holmes High School. Working through heavy rain for the first few hours of the day, the USGreentech team installed an artificial turf playing surface with Safeshell turf infill – an organic product that doesn’t breakdown or change in hot or wet climates, making it a long-lasting, safe infill for turf fields.
In addition to the field, USGreentech also painted, provided landscaping and turfed a small outdoor classroom area using Envirofill infill.
It's not always about work. The day wasn’t all about hard work, though. When the installation was complete, employees got on the soccer field to test the surface, giving CEO Joe Motz a run for his money on the soccer skills front.
Members of the high school and school district staff were very appreciative of USGreentech’s work to give both students and the community a safe space to play during and after school. Following the event, Covington Independent Public Schools posted a thank you message on its Facebook page:
“A huge THANK YOU goes to The Motz Corporation who built a five-sided turf soccer court on the Holmes campus as part of their Service Day 2019. The court is located in the tennis area of campus near Madison Avenue. The group also added turf to the outdoor classroom area and spruced up the grounds by painting fence poles and adding some mulch.”
While the school district gave USGreentech praise for the work it did during its Annual Service Day, it is not a project that could have been done without the dedicated and generous partners that donated their time, materials and other resources to help the day run smoothly. These partners include Dewey’s Pizza, Pioneer Natural Resources, Rumpke, ProPlay (Schmitz Foam Products) and Shaw Sports Turf.
Following the Service Day, USGreentech hosted its Annual Service Day Celebration the next day. Each year, the event recognizes those employees who have been with the company for 5, 10 and 15 or more years, presenting them with service awards for their continued, long-standing dedication to not only the company but the communities it serves.
Events like the Service Day and subsequent employee recognition program are just some of the reasons why USGreentech has been a multi-year finalist in the Cincinnati Business Courier’s Best Places to Work competition, the winner of the 2016 Best Places to Work competition and the winner of the 2017 INC’s Top 50 Best Workplaces.
USGreentech believes in and supports people – both the employees who work at the company and the people in the many communities it serves. The company’s Annual Service Day is just one way the company continues to give back to the communities that give it so much.
