Brad Borgman, USGreentech’s National Sales Manager of the Landscape & Recreation team, was re-elected to the Synthetic Turf Council (STC) Board as Vice Chairman at the Annual Membership Meeting on October 10th. Borgman was originally elected to the STC as a participating Board member in 2015 (position expired at the October 2016 Meeting).
The Synthetic Turf Council, a 501(c)6 nonprofit, acts as a resource to buyers, users, sellers, and manufacturers of synthetic turf. It works to provide neutral, science-based research on critical issues in the turf industry, e.g. reuse and recycling, heat, infill systems. Moreover, this aids in the installation, maintenance, and general application of turf systems. The STC’s goal of growing the turf industry and increasing awareness is balanced with its desire to educate on important industry guidelines. It has four pillars of Strategic Priority: Advocacy, Marketing, Education and Networking, according to it's website. They also hold an annual service project where they put efforts towards a predetermined organization. In 2015 the program was the City of Refuge in Atlanta, Georgia.
Borgman’s position as Vice Chairman of the STC demonstrates his expertise and experience. With over eight years in the industry, he has a unique understanding of how best to propel the use and acceptance of synthetic turf. He comes to his position with a C-27 Landscape Contractors license for the State of California and is a Certified Green Building Professional. Borgman’s influence will continue the STC’s mission of promoting the highest standards and highest quality in the synthetic turf industry. According to his LinkedIn profile, Borgman's tenure includes nine years owning his own landscape and design business, North Arrow Landscaping Design. It also includes Director of Sales Operations for Heavenly Greens, and Regional Sales Manager for Easy Turf Incorporated.
USGreentech has been a member of The Synthetic Turf Council for seven years. During those years, the company has been committed to improving the industry through active participation in the STC’s various committees, as elected officers and participating in speaking opportunities. USGreentech’s involvement was superseded by our parent company’s commitment to the success of the STC. From 2007-2009, our CEO served as the Chairman of the Board and our sister company’s President recently served on the Board. We always felt that making a difference required getting involved, putting agendas aside and working collaboratively with our competitors and peers to make progress toward a better synthetic turf industry. Our membership with the Synthetic Turf Council has been a truly rewarding experience. As a member you have access to certification courses and a network of allied organizations to exchange information with. This includes the International Hockey Federation, and the Sports and Play Association Ltd. Even if you're not a leading turf market influencer, the STC offers buyers guides and a wealth of information essential to any landscape or turf project. Brad’s newly elected position will be another USGreentech contribution toward a better tomorrow. USGreentech is so excited to have him take a leadership role and cannot wait to see the impact he will have.
